QE Engineer working on the Ampol iOS and Android Apps that enable customers to pay for fuel, EV charging and redemption of offers in-app. The role is involved with projects for retail energy, a POS system upgrade and uplifts of the offers & payments features on the mobile apps.

I was the QA Team Lead for an at-table ordering platform used to order & pay for food and drinks in hospitality venues. me&u was voted number 6 for LinkedIn's best startups of 2022. I was involded with functional, end-to-end and UAT testing for mobile web (PWA) and native mobile apps, as well as leading a team of 5 QA engineers.

I was the Platform Lead on the following projects;

• Product updates of a HTML5 video player. This iterative product updates include;

• - Integration with a new recommendations engine (Vidora)
• - Rebuild/rewrite of the video player codebase (from Javascript to Typescript)
• - Implementation of "sticky" video player (floating/adhesive player)
• - User interface redesign

Other projects I lead include;

• - Disaster recovery testing; validation of the platform failover , 
• - CDN bandwidth optimisation; save costs by optimising the streaming bandwidth
• - Single sign-on; integration of Okta as a single sign on provider
• - Database clean up; deletion of expired and faulty assets in the MongoDb to save costs
• - Server-side ad insertion

Online Video Platform migration

Platform Lead for the migration of the video platform and the integration and ingestion stack from Ooyala to Brightcove. This migration included a rewrite of the backend and working with the product vendor to perform an asset migration from the legacy platform to the new platform.

Salesforce (ExactTarget) Marketing Cloud Migration

Lead Test Engineer on the migration of the Marketing Cloud to a new API and WordPress VIP. The platform is used for sending newsletters to subscribers. Testing the platform with the next generation CMS and API to ensure the new API integrates with the existing ExactTarget implementation.

Apple News - Mobile Apps & Video

Test Lead on the backend editorial systems for the Tablet and Mobile apps in the Content Integration Team. This involves functional testing RESTful interfaces for data, and content delivery for the News Corp suite of mobile apps and Apple News.

Brightcove Perform video player

Test engineer on the roll-out of a new video player for News Corp's properties. The player is a customised version of Brightcove's HTML5 Perform video player. Testing was involved with CMS integration, ad serving integration, analytics integration, integration with News Corp's existing Ooyala video platform and general functional testing. I was also involved with supporting deployments and production on the CMS.

Digital Asset Management Platform

Product details

I was the lead Test Engineer on a project to implement a new video CMS at News Corp. The platform is based on a heavily customised version of Entermedia's open-source DAM. The testing was involved with integration, API and system testing. The system replaced a legacy platform to manage Newscorp's entire catalogue of over 100,000 videos and integrates with existing editorial systems.

AdPoint - Digital Ad Sales Platform Migration

Project Details

I was the Test Manager on a project to roll-out a new ad booking platform called AdPoint at News Corp Australia. The project involved testing the new ad sales system and integration testing with the existing digital Ad server, Doubleclick for Publishers. I lead a team of up to 5 Test Analysts.
